Cobra helicopters can be added to ground platoons and provide constant damage to enemy ground units, especially tanks and support units that can't fire back.
The Cobra is the first helicopter able to be built by the player. As an aerial unit, it provides more gameplay options. Helicopters are immune to the effects of Landmines and do not trigger them. Several turrets, such as Railgun, Howitzer, and SAM will not target them either. They are more vulnerable to the Flak Gun (which exclusively targets Aerial Units), as well as Infantry and defenses that target all units such as Salvo and Machine Gun.
Being a helicopter, the Cobra moves rapidly and is very responsive. It features superior range and fires in bursts, dealing high ballistic single-target damage. Essentially, it's three flying HUVMEEs with higher DPS but lower health. This can sometimes be utilized to take out Railguns from afar to pave way for a Ground assault. They are horrible at taking damage and best used to provide DPS instead, so ground vehicles such as the Abrams M1A1 can distract Machine Guns and defensive enemy units for it to take them out. They are still weak against Infantry on their own, however, due to their lack of Splash damage capabilities, but against strong units that target only infantry ground units it will be able to unleash havoc, even if the enemy had tanks, as most heavy vehicles cannot target aerial foes. They seem to deal more damage to defense platforms armed with the SAM (which does nothing to helicopters) and Flak Gun. However, it's more advisable to use Gunship Helicopters such as the Hind to tank the damage instead while Cobras take them out.
